MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019156 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'jackfruit bulbs extraction device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A jackfruit bulbs extraction device comprises of a platform 1 positioned on a surface, plurality of suction cups 2 firmly gripping the surface, thereby securely accommodating the platform 1 over the surface, an artificial intelligence-based image capturing module 3 determines dimension of the jackfruit and actuates an L-shaped telescopic rod 5 to extend and position a motorized cutter 6 installed on the rod 5 in proximity to the fruit, an extendable pole 7 extend and lift the plate 4 followed with rotation of the plate 4, simultaneously microcontroller actuates cutter 6 to rotate and cut the skin of the jack fruit in a spiral manner, a robotic arm 8 grip the skin and peel off the skin from the jack fruit."
