MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517022783 A) filed by Dormakaba Schweiz Ag, Wetzikon, Switzerland, on March 13, for 'key for an electromechanical locking device.'
Inventor(s) include Kolliker, Marcel; Zahner, Markus; and Laib, Dominik.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a key (1) for an electromechanical locking device (101), wherein a length axis (90), a width axis (92) and a thickness axis (91) are defined, in each case perpendicular to one another, with a key grip (2) and with a key shank (50), which projects from the key grip (2) along the length axis (90), for insertion into the locking device (101), wherein the key grip (2) comprises an electrical energy accumulator (85) and/or electronics (70), wherein the key grip (2) comprises a frame (30) in which the energy accumulator (85) and/or the electronics (70) are or is received, wherein the frame (30) is rigidly connected to the key shank (50), and wherein the frame (30) comprises at least one gripping region (40), which forms a surface of the key grip (2) intended to be grasped by a user."
