MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511127103 A) filed by Rayat Bahra University; Bahra University; and Rayat Bahra Professional University, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 15, 2025, for 'knife handle securing device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A adaptable sheet application assistive device, comprises of an elongated body 101 having a proximal end attached with a handle 102 that is gripped by a user for manipulation and control of the body 101, a microphone is installed on the body 101 for enabling the user to provide input voice commands for application of a sheet onto a surface, a microcontroller linked with the microphone for processing the commands to activate an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 104 installed on the body 101 to determine distance of the surface from a distal end of the body 101, an extendable rod 105 mounted on the distal end for extending to position a plate 113 attached with the rod 105, in proximity to the surface, and a flame torch 106 mounted on the plate 113 to provide controlled flame application over the contoured surfaces for softening the sheet."
