MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018835 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'lid opening device for containers.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A lid opening device for containers, comprising an extendable inverted U-shaped frame 1 associated with the device, an image capturing module 2 installed on the frame 1 determining position of a lid, a pair of motorized grippers 3 attached with the frame 1 for securing the lid, a telescopic rod 4 assembled on the frame 1 to extend to fasten the lid, a sliding unit 5 attached on the frame 1 for sliding the gripper 3, plurality of suction units 6 configured on the gripper 3 for gripping the lid firmly and a cushion pad 7 installed on the frame 1 for aiding a user to grip the frame 1 in a comfortable manner."
