Inventor(s) include B. Tharani; Shrinidhi B. S; Vishali R; Keerthika B; and Priya Dharshini S.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This project is of clap switch devices clap switch is a switch which can switch on/off any electrical circuit by the sound of the clap the basic idea of clap switch is that the electric microphone picks up the sound of your clap, cough or by snap the fingers. The sound energy converted into electrical energy this circuit has been constructed using basic electronic components like Arduino uno, sound sensor and relay with the ac supply The circuit will turn on lights for the first two claps for the next two claps the lights turn off. The sound of clap is received by a small microphone the sound sensor changes sound wave in to electrical wave which is further sent to the Arduino uno board and the Arduino works on the basis of the code given by us and transfer it to the relay which turns on and off according to the clap. Clapping hands basically produces 2200hz to 2800hz range and the total time taken for the circuit will be up to 3 seconds."
