MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311086073 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 16, 2023, for 'lighting device of a vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Swapna Gane; Sameep Bhogan; and Pranjali Thorat.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A lighting device (100) of a vehicle is disclosed. The lighting device (100) is configured to clearly and efficiently indicate an operating state of the vehicle to other vehicles or pedestrians. The lighting device (100) comprises an enclosure fitted with a frame of the vehicle, a support member (102) disposed in the enclosure, and a plurality of light-emitting panels (106), each having a fixed end (106-1) coupled to the support member (102). The plurality of light-emitting panels (106) are arranged in a pre-determined pattern on the support member (102). The lighting device (100) also includes an operating assembly (200) configured to move at least one light-emitting panel (106) of the plurality of light-emitting panels (106) along a radial direction of the support member (102), and simultaneously move the at least one light-emitting panel (106) in an axial direction of the support member (102)."
