MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517064462 A) filed by Nanovation Therapeutics Inc., Vancouver, Canada, on July 7, for 'lipid nanoparticles comprising elevated neutral lipid and a targeting moiety for targeted delivery of nucleic acid.'

Inventor(s) include Gupta, Rupsa; Narsineni, Lokesh; Kurek, Daniel; Witzigmann, Dominik; and Kulkarni, Jayesh.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided herein is a lipid nanoparticle encapsulating nucleic acid and having at least 30 mol% neutral lipid, a sterol or derivative thereof and a targeting moiety anchored in a lipid layer thereof via a lipophilic moiety. Further provided are methods of using the lipid nanoparticles for targeted delivery in vivo. Such lipid nanoparticle may exhibit significantly improved delivery and targeting to extrahepatic tissues and/or organs."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 08, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CA2023/051632.
