MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641048240 A) filed by Sidhya Asia Chemical Private Limited, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 15, for 'liquid microsilica suspension composition and a method for preparation thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Rabi Sankar Basak.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a liquid microsilica suspension composition and a method for its preparation. The composition overcomes the handling hazards of powdered microsilica. The suspension comprises 48% to 52% by weight of microsilica powder, a stabilizer such as Xanthan Gum to prevent sedimentation, a pH regulator such as sulphuric acid to maintain a pH of 2 to 3 and prevent gelling, and a defoamer such as tri-isobutyl phosphate to remove entrapped air, with the balance being water. The method involves sequentially mixing the stabilizer into water, dispersing the microsilica powder under high shear, and finally adding the defoamer and pH regulator. The resulting composition is a homogeneous, flowable liquid with a high solids content and a shelf life of at least 30 days, suitable for use as an admixture in high-performance concrete."
