MUMBAI, India, Jan. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202417067935 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Sept. 9, 2024, for 'lithium secondary battery.'

Inventor(s) include Cho, Yoon Gyo; Lee, Jung Min; and Lee, Chul Haeng.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 31, under issue no. 05/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention pertains to a lithium secondary battery comprising: a positive electrode containing lithium nickel cobalt manganese-based oxide as a positive electrode active material; a negative electrode containing a negative electrode active material made of Si; and a non-aqueous electrolyte containing lithium salt, an organic solvent, and additives, wherein the organic solvent includes a compound of formula 1 and fluoroethylene carbonate, and the compound of formula 1 constitutes more than 15 wt% of the total non-aqueous electrolyte. [Formula 1] In formula 1, A is a C2 or C3 cyclic phosphite, R is a C1-5 alkylene group, and X is a C1-5 perfluoroalkyl group."

The patent application was internationally filed on Sept. 26, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/014913.
