MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311081518 A) filed by Hero Motocorp Limited, New Delhi, on Nov. 30, 2023, for 'lock device of a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a lock device (302) for locking and unlocking a seat (204) of a vehicle (200). The lock device (302) includes a base member (406), a pivot pin (416), a cam (418) rotatably mounted to the pivot pin (416), a spring (420) mounted to the pivot pin (416) and operably engaged with the cam (418), and an actuating member (448) operably engaged with the cam (418). The base member (406) forms a channel (414) to receive a lockable member (234) of the seat (204). A first contacting surface (430) of the cam (418) is adapted to constrain an upward movement of the lockable member (234), and a second contacting surface (432) of the cam (418) is adapted to constrain an upward rotation of the cam (418). The actuating member (448) operates the cam (418) to allow an openable state (206) of the seat (204)."
