MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517060059 A) filed by Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (PUBL), Stockholm, on June 24, for 'low latency low loss scalable throughput (l4s) congestion indication for wireless networks.'

Inventor(s) include Froberg Olsson, Jonas; and Johansson, Ingemar.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method, system and apparatus are disclosed. According to some embodiments, a network node associated with a central unit, CU, and a distributed unit, DU is provided. A first plurality of protocol stack layers are associated with the CU and a second plurality of protocol stack layers are associated with the DU. The network node is configured determine a first metric associated with one of the second plurality of protocol stack layers, determine a packet marking probability based on a change in the first metric where the packet marking probability corresponds to a probability for triggering a marking of packets with a congestion indication due to congestion in the network meeting a predefined threshold, and cause transmission of an indication indicating that the congestion in the network is increasing toward the predefined threshold."

The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 07, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/053017.
