MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202347052901 A) filed by Cisco Technology, Inc., San Jose, U.S.A., on Aug. 7, 2023, for 'low-overhead channel sounding in wi-fi7 based on partial band channel estimation.'

Inventor(s) include Silverman, Matthew, Aaron; Alizadeh, Ardalan; Mirfakhraei, Khashayar; and Bhanage, Guatam, D.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Optimal determination of a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) sounding method and system may be provided. An Access Point (AP) selects a subchannel for the partial sounding. The AP then sounds the selected subchannel. A client station responds with Channel State Information (CSI). The AP can receive the CSI, from the client station, in response to the sounding. Based on the CSI from the selected subchannel, the AP extrapolates the CSI to determine predicted CSI for a wider bandwidth channel."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 06, 2022, under International application No.PCT/US2022/011472.
