MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511133798 A) filed by Chitkara University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'lpg cylinder safety device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Neeraj; and Dr. Vijay Kumar Sinha.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An LPG cylinder safety device comprises of a platform 101 configured to accommodate a domestic LPG cylinders of varying sizes, a sensor suite 201 configured to detect cylinder dimensions, weight, gas leakage, and environmental conditions in real time, a plurality of cascading plates 102 to fully enclose the LPG cylinder, an imaging unit 202 installed via an extendable link 203 to detect the position of the cylinder regulator knob for identifying an open or closed state of gas flow, a knob control assembly to automatically open or close the cylinder regulator knob in response to gas leakage detection, a pair of horizontal flaps 103 installed via a pair of motorized hinge joints 104 to deploy the flaps 103 for enclosing top portion of the cylinder, a microcontroller is operatively coupled to a cloud database and a user interface provided in a computing unit."
