MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517074393 A) filed by The Lubrizol Corporation, Wickliffe, U.S.A., on Aug. 5, for 'lubricant including an ester of pyromellitic acid for refrigeration systems.'
Inventor(s) include Rakestraw, Bridgett, K.; Pallister, David, M.; Sumner, Andrew, D.; Miller, Scott; and Adams, Zhana.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A working fluid includes a lubricant and a refrigerant. The lubricant includes a tetra-alkyl ester of pyromellitic acid (1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid) and the refrigerant may include a hydrofluoroolefin. A method of lubricating a compressor of a refrigeration system includes forming a working fluid in the refrigeration system. The working fluid includes a lubricant and a refrigerant. The lubricant includes a tetra- alkyl ester of pyromellitic acid and the refrigerant may include a hydrofluoroolefin."
The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 17, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/011800.
