MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341080786 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Nov. 28, 2023, for 'lubrication system for power transmission unit.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a lubrication system for a power transmission unit. The system (200) comprises a clutch pack (202) housed inside a housing (204) of the power transmission unit. The system comprises a transmission shaft (206) configured to rotatably mount the clutch pack (202) inside an inner clutch carrier (202a) and a non-structural member (100) adapted to be received in a space defined within the inner clutch carrier (202a). The non-structural member (100) comprises a plurality of channels (102) configured to facilitate flow of a lubrication fluid from a sump to intrinsic portions of the power transmission unit. The non-structural member of the lubrication system facilitates efficient lubrication or cooling of the components of the power transmission unit of a vehicle."
