MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122195 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'machine learning approaches for scrna analysis in migraine molecular interaction studies.'
Inventor(s) include Sathya K; Nidhi Shakhapur; and Sajitha Lulu S.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a computer-implemented method (100) for analyzing single-cell RNA sequencing data to identify biomarkers associated with migraine pathogenesis. The method (100) receives (102) a single-cell RNA sequencing dataset comprising gene expression data from a plurality of cells, preprocesses (104) the dataset by performing quality control filtering and normalization, performs (106) dimensionality reduction on the preprocessed dataset, applies (108) a clustering algorithm to identify distinct cell populations, identifies (112) marker genes specific to each cell population through differential gene expression analysis, constructs (114) a molecular interaction network using the identified marker genes, calculates (116) centrality metrics for genes within the molecular interaction network, and outputs (118) cluster-specific biomarker candidates based on the calculated centrality metrics."
