MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122815 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education, Manipal, Karnataka, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'magnetically coupled mixer grinder system.'

Inventor(s) include Mahesh Kumar; Sudhir; Gajanan Anne; Prakash Kumar; and Priyaranjan Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a magnetically coupled mixer grinder system (100). The system (100) includes a motor (118) and a first magnetic assembly (104) comprising a circular array of permanent magnets concentrically arranged around a motor drive shaft (106) within the motor housing (102). The jar (108) incorporates a second magnetic assembly (110) mounted to a rotor of a blade (112) at the base; the second magnetic assembly (110) being configured to magnetically couple with the first magnetic assembly (104) upon jar placement. At least one non-metallic spacer (114, 116) is positioned between the assemblies (104, 110) to maintain alignment, prevent contamination, and protect the magnets. Rotational torque from the motor drive shaft (106) is transmitted to the blade rotor via magnetic coupling, enabling non-contact motion transfer. The system further supports modular interchangeability of jars, magnetic-assisted alignment, and incorporation of surface indexing features for rotational stability."
