MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341080738 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Nov. 28, 2023, for 'managing codec configuration of broadcast audio stream.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments herein disclose methods for managing dynamic codec configuration of audio stream by transmitter device (100). The method includes detecting event to change first codec configuration of the audio stream while the transmitter device is broadcasting audio stream. Further, the method includes determining a second codec configuration and a timing information for the ongoing broadcast audio stream based on the detected event. The second codec configuration is different than the first codec configuration. The timing information indicates a time at which the second codec configuration is to be used by the at least one receiver device (200). Further, the method includes sending a control packet to the receiver device (200) to modify the first codec configuration of the audio stream at the at least one receiver device (200) while audio stream is broadcasted by the transmitter device (100). The control packet includes second codec configuration and timing information."
