MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517056697 A) filed by Basf Se, Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany, on June 12, for 'manganese- and iron-containing catalysts comprising an imine ligand for the synthesis of polyurethanes.'

Inventor(s) include Schaub, Thomas; Joost, Maximilian; Sala, Oliver; Ruddigkeit, Miriam; Poeltl, Joerg; Bokern, Stefan; Kamm, Marina; Hashmi, A. Stephen K.; and Ocansey, Edward.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a process for the production of a polyurethane comprising the application of a manganese- and iron-containing catalysts wherein the catalyst comprises at least on imine ligand, which is defined by the general formula (I). The catalysts comprise a salicylaldehyde based imine according to the general formula (II) as an imine ligand. The present invention is further directed to a polyol component comprising a catalyst according to the invention, and a polyurethane produced according to such a process."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 10, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/081500.
