Inventor(s) include Swaranjali Sunil Khot; Ishwari Vijay Todkar; Pallavi Prafull Vasmale; Shruti Shamrao Thodsare; and Amol Radhakishan Dhumal.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The Manual Self-Locking Rack and Worm Gear Table Lifting Mechanism is designed to provide smooth, safe, and controlled vertical adjustment of a work table. The system consists of a Base Support that ensures structural stability and a Rack and Pinion Mechanism responsible for vertical movement of the Work Table Platform. The Rack and Pinion Mechanism is driven by a Manual Worm Gear Mechanism which provides inherent self-locking, preventing reverse motion under gravitational load. The Work Table Platform can be securely fixed at the desired position using a Position Locking Screw. This arrangement improves stability, reduces manual effort, and enhances operational safety for industrial and workshop applications. I. Base Support: Provides rigid structural stability. II. Rack and Pinion Mechanism: Enables guided vertical motion of the table. III. Manual Worm Gear Mechanism: Provides motion transmission and self-locking capability. IV. Work Table Platform: Supports the workpiece during operation. V. Position Locking Screw: Secures the table after positioning."
