MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341087703 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'marking assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Malatesh Akkur.

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A marking assistive device, comprising a C-shape extendable body 1 configured with an extendable plate 2, a laser acuity sensor 3 mapped on the body 1 for detecting dimensions of the edge, a touch enabled screen 4 mounted on the body 1 accessed by the user for entering command regarding requirement of a straight line/curved line along with dimension of the line, a rectangular member 5 crafted with multiple iris pores 6 configured at the free-end of the plate 2, a speaker 8 installed on the body 1 for notifying the user to use an auxiliary marking pen, a camera 9 mounted on the body 1 to detect insertion of the marking pen within suitable iris pores 6 and an ultrasonic sensor 10 mapped on the body 1 detects dimension of the object and accordingly regulates operation of the plate 2."
