MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621008922 A) filed by Sage University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Jan. 29, for 'masonry hand tool and method of operating the same.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A masonry hand tool (100) for mortar application and vertical alignment checking is disclosed. The masonry hand tool (100) includes a trowel blade assembly (102), a shank (104) coupled to the trowel blade assembly (102). A hollow handle (106) is coupled to the shank (104) and has an internal cavity (108) extending along a longitudinal axis. A plumb bob (110) is positioned within the internal cavity (108) and press-fitted. The plumb bob (110) is configured to provide vertical alignment measurement when deployed. A thread (112) has a first end attached to the plumb bob (110) and a predefined length. The thread (112) is stored within the internal cavity (108) and configured to enable deployment of the plumb bob (110) from the hollow handle (106) for vertical alignment checking."
