MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441013526 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'mat holding device for beach.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mat holding device for beach, comprising plurality of U-shaped extendable bodies 1, each constructed with a set of curved-shaped extendable plates 2 developed to be accommodated at concerns portions of a mat laid over a beach, an ultrasonic sensor detecting thickness of mat for actuating plates 2 to extend/retract, followed by actuation of clipper for gripping corners of mat, a suction unit 4 negative pressure in view of withdrawing sand from beach and collecting sand in a chamber 5, a camera 6 detecting presence of creases on mat, a motorized wheel 7 for maneuvering bodies 1 away from each other in view of eliminating creases, an anemometer for detecting wind speed in surroundings for actuating bodies 1 to extend and penetrate in view of preventing any undesired motion of bodies 1."
