MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517058234 A) filed by L'Oreal, Paris, on June 17, for 'mattifying cosmetic composition comprising at least a clay and a crystallized fatty phase.'

Inventor(s) include Philippon, Celine; Clement, Franck; Perrin, Katia; and Marion, Catherine.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Mattifying cosmetic composition comprising at least a clay and a crystallized fatty phase The present invention relates to compositions, in particular cosmetic compositions, comprising, in a physiologically acceptable aqueous medium, at least one clay chosen from phyllosilicates having a 2:1 sheet structure and at least one crystallizable fatty substance in crystallized form. The present invention also relates to the use of such a composition for regulating excess sebum of the skin and/or mattifying the skin and/or blurring skin imperfections."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 21, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/087466.
