MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025974 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'meal plate holding device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A meal plate holding device, comprising an extendable circular platform 1 hinged with plurality of pins 2 developed to be positioned over a dish plate accommodated with a food, an artificial intelligence-based image capturing unit 3 mapped on the platform 1 for detecting appropriate accommodation of the platform 1, a light emitting diode (LED) 4 fabricated over the platform 1 for notifying the user to prevent spillage of food positioned over the plate, a suction unit 5 connected with each of the pins 2 to create a negative pressure for providing appropriate grip on the plate and a c-shaped clamping unit 6 mapped on the platform 1, wherein the unit to grip the food and position on a user desired surface as per the input provided by the user via a microphone 7 mapped on the platform 1."
