MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641049393 A) filed by J. J. College Of Engineering And Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, on April 17, for 'mechanism for tracking children.'

Inventor(s) include K. Prakash; Dr. R. Ragu; RV Kavya; and M. Mohamed Hussain.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The Mechanism for tracking children comprises an electronic device operated by a first user and a wearable tracking unit worn by a second user. The electronic device includes a transceiver connected to an external communication network, while the tracking unit has a second transceiver that communicates remotely with the electronic device through the same network. The tracking unit can send a first signal to alert the first user when assistance is needed and a second signal to notify emergency responders in case of an emergency."
