MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411009622 A) filed by Chakr Innovation Private Limited, New Delhi, on Feb. 13, 2024, for 'metal-air cell.'

Inventor(s) include Shubham Mittal; and Akash Mitra.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a metal-air cell (100). The metal-air cell (100) includes a body (102) which is defined with at least one air channel (118) to allow flow of air. A cathode (104) that is housed withing the body (102) and a metallic anode (106). The metallic anode (106) is arranged concentrically inwards relative to the cathode (104). Further, the metallic anode (106) is structured to be rotatable relative to the cathode (104). The metal-air cell (100) further includes an electrolyte which is disposed between the cathode (104) and the metallic anode (106). Furthermore, the rotation of the metallic anode (106) relative to the cathode (104) and the electrolyte is configured to scrape passive hydroxide layer that are formed on a surface of the metallic anode (106)."
