MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411014299 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'metal sheet hemming device.'
Inventor(s) include Gurkirat Bhatia; Rajdeep Singh; Yashpreet Singh; and Akash Kumar Jangid.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A metal sheet hemming device, comprises of a rectangular shaped frame 1 installed with a pair of plates 2 positioned on metallic sheets having one side in a folded state being placed near each other for allowing a user to place device on the folded portion manually, an artificial intelligence based image capturing module 3 to detect proper accommodation of frame 1 on the sheet, a hydraulic pusher 4 to push the sheet for interlocking the folded portion of the sheets, a sensing module to determine thickness and hardness of the sheet, a hot blower 5 to dispense hot air on the surface of sheet for softening the sheet, a laser sensor to determine shape of the sheet and a motorized ball and socket joint 6 to orient the portions for joining the sheet properly."
