MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017973 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'metallic sheet bending assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A metallic sheet bending assistive device, comprising a housing 1 configured with an inlet 2 for allowing a user to insert a metal sheet required to bend, an artificial intelligence-based image capturing module 3 for determining unevenness of the sheet, a pair of primary motorized rollers 4 for pressing the sheet by passing sheet through a gap in between the primary rollers 4, an ultrasonic sensor determining thickness of the sheet, a pair of telescopic rods 5 for increasing/decreasing gap as per detected thickness, a touch interactive display panel 6 to enter data regarding length and bending angles required to be performed over the sheet, multiple pairs of secondary motorized rollers 7 to perform shaping of the sheet, a pair of hydraulically operated rods 8 for pressing the sheet, a laser sensor for detecting length of the shaped sheet, and a motorized cutter 9 to cut shaped sheet."
