MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517049091 A) filed by International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, U.S.A., on May 21, for 'metastability-free clockless single flux quantum logic circuitry.'

Inventor(s) include Rylov, Sergey; Bulzacchelli, John; and Beck, Matthew.

The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device includes a logic circuit (200) comprising a clockless single flux quantum logic gate which comprises a plurality of input ports (Port A, Port B), an output port (Port Z), an output Josephson junction (220), and a plurality of dynamic storage loop circuits (210-1, 210-2) and isolation buffer circuits (310-1, 310-2). The output Josephson junction (220) is coupled to an output (Nout) of each dynamic storage loop circuit and configured to drive the output port (Port Z). Each isolation buffer circuit is coupled to a respective input port (Port A, Port B), and a respective dynamic storage loop circuit (210-1, 210-2) and configured to absorb a circulating current of an antifluxon which is injected into the respective dynamic storage loop circuit to prevent the antifluxon from being output from the respective input port, and to inject a fluxon into the respective dynamic storage loop circuit in response to a single flux quantum pulse applied to the respective input port, and annihilate an antifluxon present in the respective dynamic storage loop circuit."

The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 21, 2023, under International application No.PCT/IB2023/058312.
