Inventor(s) include Jeon, Byeung Woo; Yim, Jong Hoon; Lee, Jee Hwan; Lee, Yu Jin; Heo, Jin; and Park, Seung Wook.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed in the present embodiment are a video coding method and apparatus using decoder-side motion vector refinement applicable to single-direction and bi-prediction are disclosed. The video coding method and apparatus according to the present embodiment use an intra predictor generated by intra-predicting the current block or use the ratio of the magnitudes of two motion vectors so as to refine a motion vector at a decoder side in single-direction prediction, which uses one reference picture, or bi-prediction in which the current picture is not located right in the center of two reference pictures, temporally."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 17, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/018550.
