MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517094526 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Oct. 1, for 'method and device for energy saving in wireless communication system.'

Inventor(s) include Yi, Junyung; Kim, Youngbum; Park, Kyoungmin; and Lee, Jaewon.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosure relates to a 5th generation (5G) or 6th generation (6G) communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a terminal is provided. The method includes receiving, by the terminal from a base station, channel state information (CSI) report configuration information including a configuration on a CSI report for a network energy saving, a power offset for the CSI report for the network energy saving being included in the configuration on the CSI report for the network energy saving, obtaining, by the terminal, a channel quality indicator (CQI) based on the power offset, and transmitting, by the terminal to the base station, a CSI report including the CQI."
