MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517048794 A) filed by Avl List Gmbh, Graz, Austria, on May 20, for 'method and drive unit for starting a primary drive machine.'
Inventor(s) include Davydov, Vitaly; Fuckar, Gernot; Schatz, Patrick; and Gruber, Manuel.
The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a method for starting a primary drive machine, in particular an internal combustion engine, in an electric driving mode of a drive unit and to a drive unit for a motor vehicle, in particular a motorcycle (11), comprising a primary drive machine (ICE), a secondary drive machine (EM), and a transmission (13). The drive unit (12) has three shifting elements which are paired with the planetary gear set, the input shaft (14), and the primary drive machine (ICE). Thus, the planetary gear set can be blocked, and the input shaft (14) and the primary drive machine (ICE) are blocked in at least one rotational direction."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 22, 2023, under International application No.PCT/AT2023/060407.
