MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421034679 A) filed by Tata Consultancy Services Limited, Maharashtra, on May 1, 2024, for 'method and system for decentralized safe navigation in multi-robotic agent systems.'

Inventor(s) include Baranwal, Mayank; and Sukumar, Srikant.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The embodiment of present disclosure herein addresses unresolved problem of safe and collision free navigation among multiple mobile robotic agents using a decentralized control within a dynamic environment unlike the prior arts which uses a combination of Control Lyapunov Functions or Control Barrier Functions for a single robotic agent navigation. The embodiment of the present disclosure simultaneously prioritizes achieving controllability i.e., convergence to a set of goal position and safety, ensuring collision avoidance with both static and dynamic obstacles among multiple mobile robotic agents by incorporating Sequential Convex programming. The embodiment of the present disclosure results in a computationally efficient Control Lyapunov Functions- Sequential Convex programming (CLF-SCP) based Quadratic Programming (QP) solution, which holds the potential to scale seamlessly to accommodate an arbitrary number of agents."
