MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341087859 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'method and system for managing lane change for vehicles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a technique for managing lane change for vehicles. The present disclosure discloses identifying one or more stubs in a route map navigated on a navigation system of the vehicle determining a desired lane for the vehicle corresponding to each stub of the one or more stubs, determining a reaction point for each stub of the one or more stubs for initiation of the lane change to the desired lane for the vehicle, assigning a priority value to 10 each stub based on the predetermined lane change distance, and initiating the lane change for the vehicle based on a stub of the one or more stubs having a highest priority value."
