The disclosure further encompasses transmitting, from the PEEGN, to a physical virtual inventory manager (PVIM) module, the request for the set of resources and a request for a region of instantiation of the network function. The disclosure further encompasses determining, at the PVIM module, a set of available resources based on the request for the set of resources and the region of instantiation of the network function and reserving, at the PVIM module, the set of resources from the available set of resources."
