MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641001383 A) filed by Indian Space Research Organisation, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Jan. 6, for 'method and system for robotic cleaning of mixer components in hazardous solid propellant.'
Inventor(s) include C. Pugalendhi; GKV Raman; Majeti Murali Venkata Dhanumjaya Rao; and Gatram Ramesh Babu.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Method (700) and system (120) for robotic cleaning of mixer components in hazardous solid propellant of 1.3 class processing environment is disclosed. Method (700) includes receiving (702) three-dimensionalimage data of mixer components. Method (700) includes detecting (704) regions comprising residual propellant material on mixer components based on processing 3D image data. Method (700) includes generating (706) first cleaning path for linear arm robot to reach and clean detected regions. Method (700) includes capturing (708) motion data corresponding to movements of human operator wearing motion tracking suit. Method (700) includes refining (710) first cleaning path based on motion data to generate optimised cleaning path corresponding to human-guided trajectories. Method (700) includes controlling (712) movement of linear arm robot coupled to end effector to perform cleaning of detected regions of mixer components based on refined first cleaning path."
