MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517021647 A) filed by Streparava S. P. A. Con Socio Unico, Adro, Italy, on March 11, for 'method for calculating the mass of a vehicle and system for calculating the mass of said vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Delvecchio Diego; Palmieri Agnese; Simoni Giulia; and Zorzutti Andrea.
The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Method for determining the mass of a vehicle in particular a land vehicle preferably a light commercial vehicle; the method comprises the steps of: a) detecting a force exerted on the suspension assembly (11) in particular by the sprung mass (13); b) detecting at least one force acting on the state of inertia of the sprung mass (13); c) detecting at least one parameter of the vehicle (1) in particular provided by a second detecting device assembly (120) of the vehicle (1); the method comprising the step of defining the mass (M) of the vehicle (1) based on one or more of the following parameters: on the at least one detected force exerted on the suspension assembly; on the at least one detected force acting on the state of inertia of the sprung mass; and on at least one parameter of the engine assembly (20) or the command assembly (40) of the vehicle (1)."
The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 16, 2023, under International application No.PCT/IB2023/058225.
