MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517040103 A) filed by Cellforce Group Gmbh, Tubingen, Germany, on April 25, for 'method for connecting an arrester to a pole cap of a battery cell.'
Inventor(s) include Graf, Jurgen.; Kaiser, Bernd; and Steiner, Philipp.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a method for connecting an arrester (20) to an inner side (11) of a pole cap (10) of an electrochemical cell (100), wherein a mandrel (30) is pushed through an opening (12, 12') of the pole cap (10) and/or through an opening (23) or recess (24) of the arrester (20), wherein the mandrel (30) is configured to form a mechanical connection between the mandrel (30) and the arrester (20) or is mechanically connected to the arrester (20) at least temporarily at a section (31''), wherein a force (F) directed from the opening (12) of the pole cap (10) onto the mandrel (30) is set and the arrester (20) is pressed against the inner side (11) of the pole cap (10), wherein the arrester (20) pressed against the inner side (11) of the pole cap (10) is connected to the pole cap (10), in particular in an electrically conductive manner."
The patent application was internationally filed on Oct. 26, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/080009.
