MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517096464 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Oct. 7, for 'method for estimating blended coal coke strength after reaction, method for producing blended coal coke, method for operating coke oven, and method for controlling single coal blending ratio.'

Inventor(s) include Arakawa Sara; Yamamoto Tetsuya; Tandokoro Kohei; and Ishida Tomoharu.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a method for rapidly estimating blended coal coke strength after reaction. The present invention is a method for estimating blended coal coke strength after reaction, the method being for estimating the coke strength after reaction (CSR) of blended coal, and the method comprising: a step in which, when the weight reduction rate when coke is kept for a prescribed length of time in a prescribed temperature range in a CO2 atmosphere is considered a TG reaction rate, the TG reaction rate of single coal coke is measured by thermogravimetric analysis and the TG reaction rate of blended coal coke is estimated on the basis of a weighted average value of the measured TG reaction rate of the single coal coke; a step in which a blended coal coke reactivity index (CRI) is estimated on the basis of the TG reaction rate of the blended coal coke estimated in the previous step; and a step in which a blended coal coke strength after reaction (CSR) is estimated on the basis of the blended coal coke reactivity index (CRI) estimated in the previous step and the strength (DI) of the blended coal coke."

The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 19, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/005707.
