MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441014150 A) filed by Anooja Thomas, Kottayam, Kerala, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'method for extracting mango ginger quintessence.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a method (100) for extracting mango ginger quintessence, the method (100) includes the steps of: collecting (102) one or more fresh rhizomes of Curcuma amada Roxb or mango ginger; washing (104) the fresh mango ginger rhizomes thoroughly to remove impurities; extracting (106) the essence from the washed rhizomes using a solvent extraction method, wherein the solvent is preferably methanol; concentrating (108) the extract to obtain the mango ginger quintessence which is a ready-to-use product suitable for improving flavor and taste of food products and to provide a healthy remedy for hypercholesterolemic patients; and analyzing (110) the extract for the presence of one or more biologically active compounds."
