MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517079755 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Aug. 22, for 'method for generating steelmaking slag free lime content estimation model, method for estimating free lime content of steelmaking slag, steelmaking slag shipment management method, and method for manufacturing steelmaking slag for roads.'

Inventor(s) include Inose Masao; and Kato Yusuke.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided are a method for generating a steelmaking slag free lime content estimation model capable of easily and rapidly estimating the free lime content of steelmaking slag with high accuracy, a method for estimating the free lime content of steelmaking slag, a steelmaking slag shipment management method, and a method for manufacturing steelmaking slag for roads. The method for estimating the free lime content of steelmaking slag includes: a light-emission spectrum acquisition step for shining a laser onto the steelmaking slag to plasmatize a portion of the surface of the steelmaking slag, and acquiring light-emission spectra from the resulting plasma; and a free lime content estimation step for inputting into a free lime content estimation model the intensities of light-emission spectra including a peak based on a Ca emission line, a peak based on an Fe emission line, and a peak based on an Si emission line, among the light-emission spectra acqured in the light-emission spectrum acquisition step, and outputting the free lime content of the steelmaking slag onto which the laser has been shone."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 26, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/002416.
