MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517058835 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on June 19, for 'method for manufacturing lithium secondary battery.'
Inventor(s) include Jang, Daeun; Kang, Hyeyeon; Kang, Bohyun; Sung, Kiwon; Park, Jinseo; Lee, Yung Jong; and Jo, Youngseong.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a lithium secondary battery, the method comprising the steps of: preparing a battery cell including a cathode, an anode, and an electrolyte, the cathode containing a lithium-excess manganese-based oxide in which the content of manganese among all metals excluding lithium exceeds 50 mol% and the ratio of the number of moles of lithium to the number of moles of all metals excluding lithium, Li/Me, exceeds 1; and activating the battery cell by charging and discharging at least once, wherein in the activating step, the battery cell is charged in a constant current mode at SOC 60 to SOC 100 and then charged in a constant voltage mode, and the cut-off current is 0.06 C to 0.5 C during the charging in a constant voltage mode."
