MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441036920 A) filed by Zf Cv Systems Global Gmbh, Bern, Switzerland, on May 10, 2024, for 'method for operating a host vehicle in a downhill drive scenario, adaptive cruise control device, vehicle and computer program.'
Inventor(s) include Muthukumaran, Arunkumar.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention is directed to a method for operating a host vehicle (150) in a downhill drive scenario, and includes determining, based on slope data (SD) indicative of a cur-rent downhill slope, an acceleration time (TA) required to increase the speed value (VH) of the host vehicle (150) from a minimum speed (Vmin) to a maximum speed (Vmax) under gravity, and determining (110), based on the acceleration time (TA) and a desired brake duty cycle (DC), a deceleration time (TD) required to decrease the speed value (VH) of the host vehicle (150) from the maximum speed (Vmax) to the minimum speed (Vmin) while fulfilling the desired brake duty cycle (DC). A braking process (B) of the host vehicle (150) is controlled based on the determined deceleration time (TD) and the downhill speed range (?VD)."
