MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441021485 A) filed by Abb Schweiz Ag, Baden, Switzerland, on March 21, 2024, for 'method for predicting flow distortion in conduit and apparatus thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Subhashish Dasgupta; Chandrika K R; Divyasheel Sharma; and Sunil Bharadwaj.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure discloses a method and apparatus for predicting flow distortion in a conduit (102) is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a processor (202), a plurality of parameters (302) associated with a conduit (102) and a fluid flowing through the conduit (102). The method includes determining, by the processor (202), a non-dimensional number and a curvature of a distortion in the conduit (102) using the plurality of parameters (302). The method includes determining, by the processor (202), a distortion metric in flow of the fluid using a physics based Artificial Intelligence (AI) model based on the non-dimensional number and the curvature. The method includes determining, by the processor (202), a loss function value based on the distortion metric and a reference distortion metric. The method includes updating, by the processor (202), the distortion metric based on the loss function value."
