MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547097835 A) filed by Schleuniger Ag, Thun, Switzerland, on Oct. 10, for 'method for producing a shielded line.'
Inventor(s) include Bruckmoser, Robert; Nowak, Kevin; Elsner, Thierry; Sandhofer, Reto; and Petermann, Manfred.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a method for producing a shielded line (100), comprising the following steps: providing a conductor (110) with a shield braid (120) which is arranged around an outer circumferential surface of the conductor (110) and has a plurality of shield strands (121), opening the shield braid (120) such that the shield strands (121) of the shield braid (120) are no longer braided in the region of a free end of the shield strands (121), positioning the free end of the shield strands (121) of the opened shield braid (120) such that the free end extends away from the conductor (110) in a substantially radial direction, separating out the positioned free end of the shield braid (120) by means of a splitting device (230) such that in the shield braid (120) a gap (122) is produced which subdivides the plurality of shield strands (121) or spaces them apart from one another in groups, placing a crimping sleeve (130) around the outer circumferential surface of the conductor and around the shield braid (120) such that a joining portion comes to lie between two free radial ends (131) of the crimping sleeve (130) in the region of the gap (122) of the shield braid (120), and crimping on the placed crimping sleeve (130) by means of a crimping tool (240)."
