MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517055910 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on June 10, for 'method for producing coke.'
Inventor(s) include Takehara Kenta; Takashima Takanori; Dohi Yusuke; and Kawai Yuya.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a method for producing coke which includes solid carbon produced from carbon-containing gas and which has adequate strength to be used also in a blast furnace. This method for producing coke involves a carbon generation step for generating solid carbon from carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide, and a coke production step for producing coke using coal and solid carbon."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 06, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/039927.
