MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517059925 A) filed by Agc Inc., Tokyo, on June 23, for 'method for producing fluorinated polymer, aqueous dispersion, and particles.'
Inventor(s) include Shibasaki Kosuke; Toyoda Mizuna; and Taguchi Daisuke.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a method for producing a fluorine-containing polymer, with which a fluorine-containing polymer can be produced with good efficiency using an aqueous medium having a low environmental burden and without the need for an emulsifier. This method for producing a fluorine-containing polymer produces a second fluorine-containing polymer by polymerizing, in an aqueous dispersion liquid containing an aqueous medium, a monomer, which includes a fluorine-containing monomer, and a first fluorine-containing polymer having a TFE unit and a PAVE unit. In the first fluorine-containing polymer, the ratio of units derived from a perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) is 20 to 60 mol% relative to the total amount of units derived from tetrafluoroethylene and units derived from a perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether). The average particle diameter of the first fluorine-containing polymer is 1 to 150 nm. Prior to initiation of polymerization of the monomer, the content of the first fluorine-containing polymer is 0.01 to 4.0 mass% relative to the total mass of the aqueous dispersion liquid."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 13, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/044700.
