MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514000453 A) filed by Tokuyama Corporation; and Osaka University, Yamaguchi, Japan, on Jan. 2, for 'method for producing ketone derivative.'
Inventor(s) include Seki, Masahiko; Mashima, Kazushi; Mulani, Shaheen Kasim; and Kalita, Subarna Jyoti.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a ketone derivative in which, in addition to an aromatic acid chloride derivative, an acid chloride derivative other than the aromatic acid chloride derivative can be used as a substrate, and the present invention provides a method for producing a ketone derivative, including a step of contacting an acid chloride derivative and a Grignard reagent with each other in the presence of a copper salt and a multidentate ligand, to generate the ketone derivative, wherein the multidentate ligand is a multidentate ligand that coordinates to Mg in the Grignard reagent (III) and contains two or more donor atoms selected from an oxygen atom and a nitrogen atom."
