MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517084682 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Sept. 6, for 'method for providing water usage amount, and washing machine according thereto.'

Inventor(s) include Bae, Byeongwon; Park, Kyoungtae; Bang, Eunsuk; Oh, Changju; Lee, Sangyeol; and Lee, Jiyu.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method for providing washing information, and a washing machine are provided. The washing machine comprises: a washing module; a water level sensor for detecting water level; a display; a memory; and one or more processors communicatively connected to the washing module, the water level sensor, the display and the memory, wherein the memory stores one or more computer programs including computer-executable instructions, and, when executed by the one or more processors, the computer programs cause the washing machine to control the washing module on the basis of a user input to start washing such that water is injected into the washing machine, determine the amount of water injected into the washing machine on the basis of the water level frequency of the water level sensor, accumulate the determined amount of water according to the proceeding of at least one washing stroke, and display, through the display, on the basis of the completion of washing, the accumulated amount of water as the amount of water used during washing."

The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 07, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/001857.
